About Project

This is a solo project with a focus on creating a dialogue system.


Intention

I want to create a puzzle platformer game that uses polysemy in the dialogue system as a way of moving forward in the game. 

I approached the theme of ‘hidden within’ with the intention of hiding different meanings of a word that could mean otherwise. As polysemy can be a symbol, word, or phrase that means many different things, I’ll be using this as my design pillar. 

I’ve also approached “hidden within” in a more physical sense. The sentence or word can be interacted with and be materialised in the game world, and help the player to progress in the game. 

I want to explore a new dialogue system mechanic that would allow for object materialisation with embedded links in the dialogue.
